GENOVA DIAGNOSTIC LABS - Digestive Health Stool Testing Microbiology Analysis DESCRIPTION:This test evaluates stool for levels of beneficial flora, imbalanced flora, and possible pathogens. This is a good basic test for gut flora and pathogens. 1 sample and more inexpensive than the more in-depth tests.
Comprehensive Parasitology Profile (CP) DESCRIPTION: This test evaluates stool for presence of parasites and levels of beneficial flora, imbalanced flora, pathogenic bacteria, and yeast. This is an ideal test for patients with sudden changes in bowel pattern, especially for those who have been traveling abroad or camping. This one is the same as the Microbiology above but it includes the Parasitology and requires 3 days of samples which can be more accurate to find parasites and ova (eggs). This one is appropriate if there is any question of parasitic infection and with diarrhea as a symptom.
Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis (CDSA) DESCRIPTION: This test evaluates digestion and absorption, bacterial balance and metabolism, yeast and immune status for patients with irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, malabsorption, and other GI-related problems. Additionally, Genova offers a parasitology component (see CDSA/P below) with the CDSA test that evaluates for parasites using microscopic examination and EIA testing.
Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis/Parasitology (CDSA/P) - DESCRIPTION:Same as CDSA but adds Parasitology testing. Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis 2.0 (CDSA 2.0/P) includes parasitology
DESCRIPTION: This test evaluates digestion, absorption, gut flora, and the colonic environment, and is indicated for all chronic GI problems, for acute bowel pattern changes, and for many systemic diseases. Additionally, Genova offers a parasitology component with the CDSA 2.0 that evaluates for parasites using microscopic examination and EIA testing. The profile is indicated for all chronic GI problems, for acute bowel pattern changes, and for many systemic diseases and provides a sensitivity panel for treating pathogenic flora.Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis 2.0 no Parasitology (CDSA2.0 w/o P). All of the items on this test are included in the CDSA test but not the CDSA 2.0. E-mail me for more details or to help you select a test.
Urine Testing For Gastrointestinal Health - Metabolic Analysis Profile (Organic Acids) DESCRIPTION: This test measures four critical areas of metabolism: gastrointestinal function and dysbiosis markers, cellular and mitochondrial energy metabolites, neurotransmitter metabolites, and functionally important organic acid metabolites of amino acids. The reference ranges for this test apply to children (2-12 yrs) and adults. First Morning Urine Collection.
